Mark Birnbaum, MD, has been practicing in Florida since earning his fellowship in pediatric orthopedics at Orlando Regional Medical Center in 1989. He has worked extensively throughout the state, and he currently manages congenital and traumatic problems of the upper extremity for the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children Pediatric Orthopedic Specialty Practice. In addition to pediatric orthopedics, Dr. Birnbaum is specifically trained to treat hand problems, deformities and nonsurgical injuries in children.

Jose A. Herrera-Soto, MD, is the division chief for the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children Center for Orthopedics. After earning his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, Dr. Herrera-Soto completed his pediatric orthopedic surgery training at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital. He is a member of various national and international orthopedic societies. Dr. Herrera-Soto specializes in treating congenital neuromuscular and idiopathic scoliosis, kyphosis and neurofibromatosis. He also completed specialized training in developmental hip problems and complex hip surgery.

D. Raymond Knapp, MD, completed his orthopedic residency at West Virginia University before earning his fellowship at Orlando Health and Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. With his extensive training, he has helped develop spinal implants and instrumentation to correct scoliosis, kyphosis and other complex spinal deformities. In addition to performing these surgeries in children and adolescents, his expertise includes treating scoliosis and other spinal deformity nonoperatively and with bracing. He also performs pediatric orthopedic surgeries for neuromuscular problems and trauma.

Prior to entering orthopedic training in the United States, Jonathan Phillips, MD, trained as a general surgeon in Great Britain. Later, he developed and patented a fixation device used throughout the world for treating femur fractures in children. In addition to pediatric orthopedic surgery, his specialties include orthopedic trauma, neuromuscular disorders, spinal deformity and neck problems in children.
