Luis Faverio, MD, is the Co-Director of the Cystic Fibrosis Center at the Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine Practice for Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. He was born in Lima, Peru and attended Medical School at Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, Lima, graduating in 1987. He completed Pediatric Residency training at The Children's Hospital at SUNY Downstate, New York in 1992. Dr. Faverio spent one additional year in the program as Chief Resident.

Dr. Faverio did his fellowship at the Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC. During his fellowship he did research in Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and the use of Respigam and in the effectiveness of the high frequency chest wall oscillator as chest therapy modality in patients with cystic fibrosis.

Dr. Faverio was in practice in Fort Myers, Florida for twelve years where he was the Director of the Cystic Fibrosis Center. In August of 2011, Dr. Faverio joined the Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine Practice at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.

Daniel F. Garcia, MD, was born and raised in Orlando. He is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Medicine and completed his pediatric residency training there at Jackson Memorial Hospital in 2003.

Dr. Garcia completed a pediatric pulmonology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children's Hospital in Houston in 2006. During his fellowship his research was in the area of viral respiratory disease epidemiology and prevention, with a specific focus on RSV and human metapneumovirus infections in children with cystic fibrosis. He is board certified in General Pediatrics, Pediatric Pulmonology, and Pediatric Sleep Medicine. He joined the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children Pediatric Specialty Practice in 2006. He is co-director of the sleep medicine program. He is an Arnold Palmer Hospital Pediatric Residency Program faculty attending, clinical assistant professor for Florida State University College of Medicine and University of Central Florida College of Medicine. His clinical interests are asthma, sleep medicine, allergic rhinitis, viral respiratory infections, and cystic fibrosis.

Carlos Sabogal, MD, is the chief of the Pediatric Pulmonology Specialty Practice for Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. He was born in Lima, Peru and attended Medical School at Universidad Nacional Federico Villarreal, Lima, graduating in 1991. He completed Pediatric Residency training at Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami, Fla., in 1996. Dr. Sabogal spent four years at the University of Miami as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics. He participated in clinical research of risk factors for type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease in obese Hispanic children. He also collaborated in developmental research at the Early Intervention Program within the University of Miami.

Dr. Sabogal did his fellowship at the University of Miami/Division of Pediatric Pulmonology. During his fellowship he did research in Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), apnea and the use of Synagis. He was distinguished with the fellow research award in the year 2001, and the fellow of the year award in 2002 at University of Miami.

Mark Weatherly, MD, was born and raised in Michigan. He is a graduate of Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. He completed his Pediatric Residency training at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan in 1989.

Dr. Weatherly completed his Pediatric Pulmonology Fellowship at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin in 1992. During his fellowship he performed research in cystic fibrosis, focused on airway inflammation and surfactant function. He also developed a chest x-ray scoring system for patients with cystic fibrosis. Now known as the Wisconsin CF scoring system, this is used as an outcome measure for clinical research.

Dr. Weatherly has been on faculty at the University of South Florida School of Medicine in Tampa, Florida and Emory University Medical School in Atlanta, Georgia. After 10 years of practice in Orlando, in November 2008, Dr. Weatherly joined the Pediatric Pulmonology Specialty Practice at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.
