Robyn J. Cohen, PhD is from Long Island, NY and completed her Doctoral degree in Chicago, IL. She obtained a PhD in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Pediatric Neuropsychology. Additionally, Dr. Cohen has had specialized training in the fields of applied behavior analysis for autism spectrum disorders, and cognitive behavioral therapy for anxiety and impulse control disorders. She has worked extensively with children and adolescents with seizure disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, congenital heart defects, brain tumors, traumatic brain injuries, and learning disabilities. Dr. Cohen completed her Clinical Internship at the University of Miami / Jackson Memorial Hospital conducting neuropsychological assessments on the Pediatric Rehabilitation Unit. Her post-doctoral work in Neuropsychology was completed under the supervision of Patrick W. Gorman, PsyD, ABPP, in Winter Park, FL. Kara K. Lyons, PsyD, received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., with specialized training in neuropsychological, developmental and psychoeducational assessment. While completing her degree, Dr. Lyons gained extensive experience working with children presented with prematurity, developmental delays, learning disabilities, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, traumatic brain injury, epilepsy and other brain dysfunctions. She completed her neuropsychology internship with rotations at Lewisville Independent School District and Our Children's House at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. In this position, she received specialized training in neuropsychological assessment, neurocognitive rehabilitation, and school and intervention programming for children experiencing acute traumatic brain injury, anoxic insults and various other syndromes. Following internship, Dr. Lyons completed a two-year postdoctoral residency in the Department of Psychology at the University of Miami. While at the university, she developed a particular expertise in the developmental assessment of infants and children with known or suspected autism spectrum disorders (ASDs). In addition to clinical work, Dr. Lyons became involved in a variety of academic- and research-related activities at the university, including actively coordinating research exploring the developmental trajectories of infants and children at risk for ASDs, reviewing grants for Autism Speaks, preparing publications and supervising students in assessment procedures. Dr. Lyons also completed an additional postdoctoral residency in pediatric neuropsychology under the supervision of Patrick W. Gorman, PsyD, ABPP, in Winter Park, Fla.
