How Do I Make An Appointment?
MD Anderson – Orlando’s Referral Services Department helps patients and family members seeking information about the many services offered here. Our New Patient Referral Specialist will help you make an appointment with the right physician for your specific needs.
When you are dealing with cancer, getting information becomes a top priority. To better understand your medical history, we will ask you to provide information about your diagnosis, any treatment history, hospitalizations, labs, scans and other important details. The Referral Specialist and the clinical team will use this information to tailor your first appointment to your specific medical needs.
Scheduling an appointment at MD Anderson – Orlando is easy. Whether you are a patient making your own appointment or a physician making a patient referral, you can begin the registration process by contacting our New Patient Referral Center at 321.841.1869, between 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Your request will be handled by the specialty section that treats your type of cancer. Each section or care center has a referral specialist who will tell you what information is needed for your visit.
When a patient referral specialist contacts you, the following information will be required:
- Patient name, telephone number and insurance information
- Referring physician’s name, office address, telephone and fax numbers
- Diagnosis, date of diagnosis and how the diagnosis was made (physical exam, biopsy, other)
- What treatment, if any, has taken place
- Insurance information
- Family history
- Accurate list of medications
A financial assessment will be performed before confirming an appointment. Specific medical and pathology reports may also be requested for review before your first visit. Patient referral specialists will work with you or your referring physicians to expedite your first appointment.
