After completing his training and serving as Chief Resident at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL, he accepted a faculty position at the Atlanta Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program. During his 10 years of service to that organization, Dr. Kelley established and chaired the program’s Continuous Quality Improvement Council and was director of medical clerkships for Emory University and Mercer University students. He also founded the Good Shepherd Clinic to serve the area’s uninsured residents and later created the Georgia Free Clinic Network. Dr. Kelley continues to volunteer his time locally at Pathways to Care inCasselberry.

Since moving to Orlando in 2005, to join his father’s medical practice, Dr. Kelley has provided care to his patients in both the office and the inpatient setting at South Seminole Hospital. Their practice officially partnered with the hospital three years ago, and he has served as a quality and utilization consultant for South Seminole since that time. He was instrumental in establishing the facility’s Collaborative Quality Council and has chaired the committee since its inception. The group has lead many successful quality and safety initiatives and played a central role in piloting Orlando Health’s corporate VTE prevention strategy. More recently, Dr. Kelley has convened the hospital’s Physician Quality Improvement Committee that is responsible for review of individual cases involving readmissions, mortalities and complications of care.
